Troubleshooting
If your GDS® is not charging your device, follow the below steps.
Step 1: Check the power supply
Cigarette lighter adapter (CLA)
- Is the CLA fully engaged?>
- If present, does your CLA illuminate showing that there is power present to the plug?
- Does the nose or tip of the CLA protrude from the housing or does it sit flush like it is stuck?
- Do other items plugged into the socket work?
- If you plug the USB cable into a different CLA and into a different device, does it work?
- Is the CLA fully engaged?
Hardwire/step down converter chargers
- Is the male Micro-B USB end firmly plugged into the female Micro-B USB port on the dock?
- Unplug the male Micro-B USB from the dock and plug it directly into another device – does it charge?
- Are there any cuts or kinks in the cable?
- Are there sharp bends at the USB connectors?
- Can you connect a separate device?
Outlet plugs
- Is the male Micro-B USB end firmly plugged into the female Micro-B USB port on the dock?
- Unplug the male Micro-B USB from the dock and plug it directly into another device – does it charge?
- Are there any cuts or kinks in the cable?
- Are there sharp bends at the USB connectors?
- Can you connect a separate device?
Step 2: Check the cable

- Are both ends of the cable firmly mated with their proper connections?
- Are there sharp bends at the USB connectors?
- Does moving or bending the cable change anything?
- Does moving or bending the connectors change anything?
Hardwire/step down converter chargers
- Is the male Micro-B USB connector firmly mated with the female connection on the dock?
- Are both ends of the cable firmly mated with their proper connections?
- Are there sharp bends at the USB connectors?
- Does moving or bending the cable change anything?
- Does moving or bending the connectors change anything?
Outlet plugs
- Are both ends of the cable firmly mated with their proper connections?
- Are there sharp bends at the USB connectors?
- Does moving or bending the cable change anything?
- Does moving or bending the connectors change anything?
Step 3: Check the GDS® Dock™
- Are all the docking pins visible?
- Are any pins pressed lower than the others?
- Are there any physical contaminants in the dock/pin area?
- If so, please clean with warm water (no soap needed), or...
- Clean with a normal plastic toothbrush
- Are the pins clean? Has anything been spilled on them? Are they wet or sticky?

- Clean with a normal plastic toothbrush
Step 4: Check the IntelliSkin® protective sleeve
- Does the connector look damaged?
- Is there anything on the bottom of the skin that would prevent the contacts from contacting the pins?

- Are there any contaminants present?

Step 5: Check the phone or tablet
- Gently remove the IntelliSkin® sleeve from the device – once removed, plug your device into a known working power supply. Does it start charging? Does it charge slowly?
- If your device doesn’t start charging, plug the same cable into another device to see if it charges.
- Does the device charge when you plug the cable that normally plugs into the dock into the device?
